Vaginal Yeast Infection
A vaginal yeast infection will plague 3 out of 4 women in thier lifetime. Symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection include vaginal discharge (usually cottage cheesy, but sometimes you will see a thin, clear discharge), internal or external itching or even burning. You may also see external redness in the vaginal area. Many women will not even be aware that they have a yeast issue.
The general treatment for a typical yeast infection is an over the counter (OTC) remedy like Vagistat or Monistat. These are usually 3-5 day treatments and will often work fine for a one time event. Often, however, women will have more chronic infections that will not respond to the OTC treatments.
