Toxicity – it plays a role in Candida Cleansing

Believe it or not, toxicity is probably one of the main reasons that a candida cleanse may fail.  Candida causes a large number of symptoms, but what may not be commonly known is that the symptoms that a person who has candida experiences may not be due to the actual presence of candida, but to the toxins that the candida exudes.  Candida releases up to 79 distinct toxins into the system and according to Dr. Stephan Cooter, Ph.D, in his book Beating Chronic Disease, “Candida is responsible for flooding the system with an accumulation of toxic acetylaldehydes. Acetylaldehydes are known to poison tissues – accumulating in the brain, spinal cord, joints, muscles and tissues.” These toxins also negatively affect the immune system which will increase the candida overgrowth and create, you guessed it, more toxins.  The other problem is that trying to eliminate candida causes the organism to put even more toxins into your system. Talk about going from from bad to worse.  Imagine, a slow drip (or in some cases a torrent) of poison going into your  system every day – it’s not a good thing and you will feel miserable.

Typical toxicity symptoms include: brain fog, headaches, muscle/joint achiness, general skin itchiness and rashes, acne/pimples and even vaginal irritation or discharge.

The challenge?  How to get rid of candida and eliminate the toxins as you do it.
1.  Get your bowels moving! The body is supposed to eliminate 80% of toxins through the bowel. If you are constipated, your body will be forced to utilize your liver and even your skin to get rid of toxins. If your body is using your skin to get rid of toxins, you may experience things like itchiness, rashes, acne breakouts, ezcema or open sores.  The easiest way to solve a minor constipation problem is to take an elemental magnesium citrate in liquid form. The magnesium I have found to be most effective is Natural Calm (www.best-magnesium-citrate.com).  If you have a severe constipation problem, your best bet is a product called OxyPowder (www.constipationfree.com).

2.  Use a pysillium-based fiber product.  Metamucil or simple pysillium husk can be effective, but there are a few fibers out there that are specifically designed to help eliminate toxins.  My favorite fiber for pulling toxins is called (LOCLO) by Nature Sunshine.  It contains pysillium hull, apple pectin, acacia gum, guar gum and oat bran and can effectively cleanse your system in about 1 month although you will see improvements in less than 1 week. As with any pysillium product, do not use this if you are allergic to pysillium. Always drink plenty of water with a pysillium product.

3. If you can not take a fiber, there are some alternatives.  Activated Charcoal and Bentonite Clay (liquid form) work best to pull toxins.  These products will absorb any medications that you are taking, so you will want to take them at least 4 hours away from the time that you take your pharmacueticals. You also may want to take these for 2 weeks, then take 1 week off.

4. Another way to eliminate toxins in a hurry is an InfraRed Sauna.  Sweating will move toxins out of the bloodstream very quickly.  If you can take a suana at least 3 times a week, you will be doing yourself a big favor.

5. Sea Salt baths are another way to pull toxins out through the skin. It is relaxing, too!  To do a sea salt bath use 1 cup of baking soda and 1-2 cups of sea salt. Soak for 20 minutes.

6. Epsom Salt Bath will help pull toxins and eliminate pain.  Add 1 cup of Epsom salts and 2 tablespoons of raw grated ginger to a hot bath and soak for 30 minutes.

Getting rid of toxins through a candida cleanse, will help you to see improvement much more quickly and you will feel better, too. Happy detoxing!

Hello Friday I was of the opinion that Toxicity – it plays a role in Candida Cleansing was a really good concept. But after reading more about Bath Salts, I\’m not so sure… What do you think?

  2. Leanne says:

I am not sure which Bath Salts you are referring to. If you are thinking of the perfumed varieties that people use to bathe in then we are maybe thinking of two different things. Sea Salt and Epsom Salts can be very helpful in eliminating toxins, but you must be careful not to overuse them as they may cause a ph imbalance in the skin if used for long, sustained periods. Bathing in Sea Salt or Epsom Salt twice a week, however, should be fine.
