This week I have sick kids. The virus that has been making its away around the country has finally come to little, ol’ Meridian, ID and my kids are dropping like flies. I have a friend who’s 7 year old daughter has this same virus – she caught it within days of my own 8 year old, Maddie. It starts out with a sore throat, then moves to a fever, fatigue, coughing and then heads into secondary ear and eye infections. Needless to say, it is nasty.
My friend’s daughter has been to the doctor and has been prescribed antibiotics for the ear infection and topical antibiotic for the eye infection. The problem is that she also has a viral eye infection (I don’t know what they can do about that one). My daughter has the exact same virus, but I have been plying her with silver shield since she came down with it. The fever stage for Maddie only lasted 1 day with maximum temperature around 101 – children’s Motrin got Maddie’s fever down to normal levels. The fever stage for Maddie’s friend lasted 5 days with maximum temperature around 105. They could get it down to 102 with Motrin and Tylenol.
Maddie’s friend had to suffer through a doctor’s visit to asses the eye and ear infection and was given antibiotics to solve this (we don’t know how many rounds she will need as she is still pretty sick). Maddie complained of her ear hurting one day; I treated it with 1 drop of Silver Shield and all pain was gone within 12 hours. I have continued treating with 1 drop per day for 3 days. We noticed Maddie’s eye infection yesterday and immediately put Silver Shield in her eye (3 times yesterday, 1 time today). It is already much improved – no more weeping and the redness is markedly reduced. I will continue to treat with 1 drop of Silver twice per day for another 2 days just to be sure we have it all.
Although, I am not sure what Maddie’s friend’s doctor’s visit and prescriptions cost her family, I know that they would have cost us a substantial amount since we don’t carry health insurance to cover minor doctor’s visits. I feel that Silver Shield has saved me a significant amount of money - I think we could expect at least $200.00 in savings. All we used was a $23.95 bottle of Silver and a few doses of Motrin. Of course, Maddie also has the added benefit of all of her intestinal flora surviving the illness instead of being knocked out by antibiotics – no candida worries for this little girl.
I have to say, although I would have taken Maddie to the doctor had it been necessary, I am very thankful for the natural and safe alternative that Silver Shield provided. For a mom, Maddie’s fast and natural recovery is “priceless”.
Be Well!
