How to close your Ileocecal Valve

The Ileocecal valve is often a weak spot for people with candida. It is located on the lower right abdomen between the belly button and right hip bone.  The Ileocecal is a sphincter muscle that acts as a one way valve between the small and large intestine.  This valve prevents the reflux of colon contents into the ileum. If it is open you may see tenderness and twinges in or around its location and nausea.

Candida tends to congregate around the ileocecal valve which causes the valve to be inflamed. Being inflamed makes it difficult for the valve to stay closed.  Thankfully, there is a little procedure that you can do that will close it! You will need to close the valve numerous times during the day at first until it is retrained to stay closed.

Here is the exercise:

1. Place the tips of all of your fingers on both hands on the tender spot (2 inches over from the right hip bone and 2 inches down). Your fingers will be somewhat perpendicular to your abdomen – your hands will be cupped away from your skin.  The pinkie finger of your right hand should be resting on your right hip bone.

2. Breathe in and push with your fingertips in and up diagonally. Your fingers will be pushing up towards your left shoulder.

3. Hold your breath with your fingertips pulling up for a quick 20 count.

4. Release your fingers by sort of puffing out your breath and pushing your fingers out of your tummy.

5. Repeat the exercise 3-4 times.   Each repition should close the valve about 20%

6. Repeat as required through the day. You can tell your ileocecal valve is open if you are nauseated or feel tenderness or twinges in that area.

 To your health!
