Black Walnut

Black Walnut is a popular herbal remedy for candida.  I do not feel that it is powerful enough (in most cases) to eliminate chronic candida problems, but Black Walnut does have its uses. 

Black Walnut is not only antifungal, but it has the side benefit of also being antiparasitic and antiviral.  It will work best for you if you are struggling with candida issues that are above the shoulders.  If you are struggling with oral thrush or sinus issues this may be the herb to use to help eradicate the candida.  I do feel it would be best to use it with another, more powerful, antifungal like ThreeLac/FiveLac or Candex. 

What else can Black Walnut do?  It will help internally to get rid of ringworm, amoebas, protozoa, pinworms and fungus. It also acts as a blood purifier for skin eruptive diseases.  It helps to oxygenate the blood, which is beneficial in getting rid of these types of organisms because candida, viruses, bad bacteria and parasites are anaerobic (meaning they do not like oxygen).  Extracts or tinctures of Black Walnut can be used topically on canker sores, cold sores, fungal infections, athlete’s foot, cradle cap, dandruff, eczema, herpes sores, impetigo and poison ivy.  Black Walnut also contains iodine for the thyroid.  It can also be used to balance sugar levels and burn up excess toxins and fatty materials.  All-in-all, it is a pretty handy herb to have around. Again, I don’t think that it is powerful enough on its own to handle a chronic yeast issue, but in conjunction with ThreeLac or FiveLac it could be very helpful in getting you through a candida cleanse more quickly.  You can find a reliable and good quality source of Balck Walnut (capsule or liquid extract) at: Nature Sunshine
